Get accurate, dependable data through a unique classroom reading assessment system that helps teachers identify the instructional reading levels (IRLs) of students to better inform instruction in the classroom.

With READS you can better evaluate your students' achievements - and show adequate yearly progress (AYP) - in just a few simple steps.

This flexible and cost-effective system contains proven content developed in association with Harcourt Assessment. Test items are valid and reliable, and READS' evidence-based testing meets the requirements of Reading First and the No Child Left Behind Act.

READS is flexible and easy to use.

Step 1: Diagnose - READS' two-pronged assessment system features an Evaluation and Diagnostic component to determine students' reading levels.. Administer the Evaluation Test in as little as 30 minutes. Use the Diagnostic Test for more detailed feedback.

Step 2: Administer: Students can take a paper-and-pencil test, or go online.

Step 3: Score and Report: Use the Teacher's Manual to score the paper-and-pencil tests, or receive convenient computer-generated reports.

Step 4: Match Students to Books - READS Leveled Reading Packs match the right materials to the right student based on their individual skill needs.

Step 5: Document and Growth - Administer Form A as a pretest and Form B to show AYP.

Developed with acclaimed reading and assessment expert Dr. Roger Farr, READS provides a valid progress monitor of each student's achievement.
